.\n\n\n\nFAQs\nHow do I get there?\nWe encourage using public transportati
on. We are conveniently located near the Borough Hall\, Court Street\, and
  Clark Street subway stations\, accessible via the 2/3\, 4/5\, R\, and W l
ines.\nWhere do I park? \nParking is very limited in Brooklyn Heights. St
reet parking is free\, but be prepared to spend extra time looking for an
open spot. Paid parking garages can be found on Clinton St\, near Pierrepo
nt St\, as well as closer to Cadman Plaza and the courthouses.\nI am in a
wheelchair or use a mobility aid. Can I access your building? \nYes! Howe
ver\, our historic building has some accessibility limitations. We have a
chair lift at the corner of Pierrepont St and Monroe Pl to assist you dire
ctly into the Sanctuary\, and our Ushers or Sexton will be ready to greet
you starting half an hour before services start. It is recommended (but no
t required) to contact us in advance - at info@firstubrooklyn.org - if you
plan to use the lift so we can be prepared to assist you. \n\nRestrooms
(including an accessible restroom) and the fellowship hour following servi
ces are located downstairs\; we have a second chair lift inside the adjace
nt McKinney Chapel to assist guests to those spaces. However\, please note
this does require exiting the building and taking the chair lift down the
stairs to re-enter the building through the Chapel.\nI wear a hearing aid
. Will I be able to clearly listen to the services?\nYes! All amplified so
und in the Sanctuary and Chapel are connected to an audio induction loop s
ystem.\nWhat do I wear?\nWhatever you like! If you are sensitive to scents
 \, including perfumes and laundry soaps\, we have a dedicated scent-free s
ection of pews on the far left side of the Sanctuary.\nCan I bring my dog?
\nService animals are welcome. They should generally be harnessed\, leashe
d\, or tethered - unless the equipment interferes with the animal's work o
r the handler's disability prevents its use. In those circumstances\, the
handler must maintain control through voice commands\, signals\, or other
effective means. For preservation of First U’s historic property and the
safety of all\, pets and emotional support animals that do not qualify as
service animals are not permitted inside the building.\nCan I eat or drin
k during services?\nNo food or drink is permitted in the Sanctuary\, excep
t for water in closed containers. Food and drink are permitted in our othe
r rooms - the Undercroft (where the fellowship hour is held after services
 )\, McKinney Chapel\, Frances White Room\, Servetus Library\, Teen Room\,
Eastman Room\, and Kitchen. Trash\, Recycling\, and Compost bins are provi
 ded in those spaces.
